What is PPF film and how does it work?

PPF (Paint Protection Film) is a transparent, flexible layer thermoplastic polyurethane is applied to the car's paintwork. It protects the bodywork against scratches, stone chips, insects, road chemicals, salt and UV radiation. ADBL Protect film features a self-healing layer - fine scratches disappear under the influence of ambient heat or water. The top coat (hydrophobic or hydrophilic, depending on the variant) ensures easy washing and repels dirt.

Why PPF ADBL Protect?

  • Produced in Korea - one of the three main global centres of PPF film production.
  • 10-year warranty on durability - when applied at an accredited ADBL Approved studio.
  • Self-healing of fine scratches under the influence of ambient heat or water.
  • Three finishes - Shield Gloss (super hydrophobic, gloss >92), Shield Satin (satin), Shield Matte (matte).
  • High UV resistance - the paint does not haze or yellow under the film throughout 10 years of use.
  • Application within the Approved network - only certified studios from the Polish ADBL Approved network.

How much costs PPF wrapping?

Price wrapping a car with PPF film depends on the scope (front, half, whole car), the chosen finish (Gloss, Satin, Matte) and the size of the vehicle. Approximate packages:

Full front package
Individual quote
bumper, hood, headlights, mirrors
Half the car
Individual quote
roof, pillars, bumpers, part of the sides
Full body PPF
Individual quote
whole car, depending on the model
// The price is not listed on the site - each job is quoted individually by the chosen ADBL Approved studio, taking into account the car model, package scope and finish type (Gloss, Satin or Matte).

PPF film vs ceramic coatings

A ceramic coating is a chemical hydrophobic layer a few microns thick - it improves gloss, makes washing easier and provides protection against chemicals. PPF is a physical protective layer 200 μm thick, which absorbs stone impacts, protects against chipping and offers self-healing of scratches. The best protection comes from combining both layers: PPF on exposed parts (front, sills, door handles) + a ceramic coating on the rest of the bodywork.

Questions - PPF film

The most common questions about PPF protective film, its use, warranty and differences compared with ceramic coatings.

Q.01What is PPF?+
PPF (Paint Protection Film) is a transparent, flexible layer of thermoplastic polyurethane approximately 200 μm thick, applied to the car's paintwork. It protects against scratches, stone chips, insects, road chemicals and UV radiation. ADBL Protect film additionally offers self-healing of fine scratches under the influence of heat.
Q.02How many years does ADBL Protect PPF last?+
ADBL Protect PPF comes with a 10-year durability warranty - provided it is applied at an accredited ADBL Approved studio. It offers high resistance to UV radiation and self-healing of fine scratches.
Q.03Is PPF applied to the whole car?+
Yes, PPF can be applied to the entire car (full body PPF) or to selected parts. The most popular packages are: the full front package (bumper, hood, headlights, mirrors), the half car (roof, pillars, bumpers, part of the sides) and full body PPF (the entire bodywork).
Q.04Where to wrap a car with PPF?+
In the accredited network of studios ADBL Approved. Only application at an Approved studio qualifies for the full 10-year manufacturer's warranty. You will find the full studio map (15 locations) on the ADBL Approved page.
Q.05How does PPF differ from a ceramic coating?+
A ceramic coating is a chemical hydrophobic layer a few microns thick - it improves gloss and makes washing easier. PPF is a physical protective layer approximately 200 μm thick that absorbs stone impacts, protects against chipping and offers self-healing of scratches. The best protection comes from combining both layers.
